S17 Reconnecting With The 99%

On September 17, 2013, The 2nd Year Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, various working and affinity groups will hold a day long series, of teach ins, people’s assemblies and actions. Beginning with a Solidarity Action for McDonald’s and other Fast Food and low wage workers, that will be followed by a Press Event at 10:00am in Zuccotti Park, featuring the work of various Occupy working and affinity groups as well as other Community Based groups and movements across the city. The first annual “Occupy Activist of Honor” awards will also be given to Lawyer and Human Rights Activist Lynne Stewart, Occupier and Leader of Veterans for Peace Bill Perry, Army Whistleblower Chelsea Manning (Bradley Manning), Civil/Human Rights Activist, Community Organizer, and Educator Jitu Weusi (posthumously given), and Occupier Bill Johnsen, Hurricane Survivor and Vietnam Veteran For Peace.
